Semantics for Dynamic Syntactic Epistemic Logics

چکیده
Traditional epistemic logic assumes that agents’ knowledge is closed under logical consequence. Many attempts to solve this logical omniscience problem weaken the closure condition by assuming that agents are ignorant of certain logical rules. Duc (1997) avoids the apparent paradox of nonomniscience and non-ignorance by introducing propositions on the form “φ is true after some train of thought of agent i” explicitly into the language. A logic DES4n for this language is presented as a dynamic version of S4n. DES4n describes agents who do not necessarily know any (S4n) consequence of their knowledge now, but can get to know any such consequence in the future. Duc does not, however give a semantics for DES4n. In this paper we provide a semantics, for DES4n and some weaker systems, and prove soundness and completeness. A key assumption is that an agent can only know a finite number of formulae at each time. The semantics is based on Kripke models, where each world syntactically assigns a finite number of formulae to each agent and the transitions model steps of reasoning.

Computationally Grounded Account of Belief and Awareness for AI Agents
We discuss the problem of designing a computationally grounded logic for reasoning about epistemic attitudes of AI agents, mainly concentrating on beliefs. We briefly review exisiting work and analyse problems with semantics for epistemic logic based on accessibility relations, including interpreted systems. We then make a case for syntactic epistemic logics and describe some applications of th...
متن کاملModel checking Dynamic Epistemic Spatial Logics ∗
We propose a new class of logics for specifying and model-checking properties of distributed systems Dynamic Epistemic Spatial Logics. They have been designed as extensions of Hennessy-Milner logic with spatial operators (inspired by Cardelli-Caires spatial logic) and epistemic operators (inspired by dynamic-epistemic logics). Our logics focus on observers, agents placed in different locations ...
متن کاملDynamic sequent calculus for the logic of Epistemic Actions and Knowledge
Dynamic Logics (DLs) form a large family of nonclassical logics, and perhaps the one enjoying the widest range of applications. Indeed, they are designed to formalize change caused by actions of diverse nature: updates on the memory state of a computer, displacements of moving robots in an environment, measurements in models of quantum physics, belief revisions, knowledge updates, etc. In each ...
متن کاملBilattice Public Announcement Logic
Building on recent work on bilattice modal logic and extensions of public announcement logic to a non-classical setting, we introduce a dynamic epistemic logic having the logic of modal bilattices as propositional support. Bilattice logic is both inconsistency-tolerant and paracomplete, thus suited for applications in contexts with multiple sources of information, where one may have to deal wit...
متن کاملConnecting dynamic epistemic and temporal epistemic logics
We give a relation between a logic of knowledge and change, with a semantics on Kripke models, and a logic of knowledge and time, with a semantics on interpreted systems. In particular, given an epistemic state (pointed Kripke model with equivalence relations) and a formula in a dynamic epistemic logic (a logic describing the consequences of epistemic actions), we construct an interpreted syste...
